2008/09 - Superclub - 'Around the World'

 

‘Around the World’ Week at the Holiday Club

 

‘Around the World’ is a week of fun activities dedicated to the various cultures and countries of our world. The week began with a fun filled day inspired by Italy which of course included the infamous Italian pizza, which our Superclub children made individually hence bringing their own taste of Italy to the table.  The day also included the creation of Italian hats to go along with their hand-painted Italian flags which made the day all the more creative and fun.

 

Next in line was the turn of India transforming Superclub into Bollyclub.  Of course, the day would not be complete without Indian’s cultural henna designs which both the boys and girls enjoyed from our very own Indian henna specialist.  Many of us would agree that Indian food is simply sublime and our very own snack time became an Indian food feast with snacks including samosas, onion bhajis, poppadums and dips as well as naan bread, one feast the children all enjoyed very much. 

 

‘Around the World’ inevitably would not be complete without the children seeing first hand the animals that inhabit the different countries of the world.  Therefore, to commemorate these wonderful animals Superclub went to Chester Zoo for a fun day out allowing all the children to see these amazing creatures for themselves.  The trip was successful and both children and staff had a wonderful day, one the children will not forget in a hurry.

 

English day was a fun filled day of baking and decorating fairy cakes as well as tucking into the very English cucumber sandwiches and scones.  Of course no English day would be complete without our very own English flag which the children made as well as having a nice game of croquet to end the day.

 

With all this said Superclub is now looking forward to the finale of ‘Around the World’ week and this ends on a high note with Australia day, and as we all well know the Aussies love to Barbie which means Superclub shall have an Australian food feast with our very own tucker on the barbeque to celebrate this country.  What’s more the children shall all create their very own Australian safari hat complete with corks, they shall transform into Superclub's very own Crocodile Dundee’s, CRIKEY!!
