Year 2

Y2 – Chicks Visit

On Monday 27th January, our Year 2 children had a delivery of ten eggs into school. The children have had a lot of fun, watching the eggs, waiting for any activity. We are delighted to advise you that all ten chicks have safely hatched. Please enjoy the videos and photographs.

We hope to have more photographs to follow of the children holding the chicks…..

Nick Butterworth Day – Friday 22nd November

What a wonderful day it was!  Nick Butterworth day was a huge success.  Thank you to all involved in making the characters in the books come to life.  The children looked wonderful.  Nick Butterworth himself actually rang to congratulate us on the day.  He was overwhelmed by the efforts gone into our day and the passion for his books.

Please see email Nick Butterworth sent on the day:-

“Hello to you all at St Vincents!

I have been told that Year 2 are having a day when they will be dressing up as characters from my books! That is an amazing thought! I feel very honoured to think that my books are playing a part in the life of St Vincents. Thank you!

I hope you all have the most brilliant, fantastically wonderful day. I’d love to see some pictures of all the costumes …….

……… enjoy reading – not just my books but lots and lots of other books too. The front cover of a book is like a door. Who knows, when you open it, where it will lead to . . ?

My very best wishes to EVERYONE at St Vincent’s.   NIck Butterworth”

Enjoy the photographs.

Science Bugs……!

In Year 2, we have made a bug hotel as part of our science topic on habitats. We hope you enjoy our pictures.
