Pray for the World with Pope Francis

The month, in his monthly video, the Holy Father calls for us to pray for the world in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Let us all pray together for the sick, for the people who are suffering. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas — we who are put to the test — and deliver us from every danger. O glorious and blessed Virgin. I thank all Christians, all the men and women of good will who pray at this moment, in unison, whichever religious tradition they belong to.”

On Friday 27 March at 5pm UK time (6pm Rome), the Pope will pray on the steps of St Peter’s basilica. Although the square will be empty, there will be a period of Adoration and readings from Scripture. At the end of the service, the Holy Father will impart his Urbi et Orbi blessing and will offer a Plenary indulgence for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Class 3S

27th March

I hope your first week at home has gone well. I hope you have managed to spend some quality time with your families, doing creative and fun things, whilst keeping safe. I know I have seen a few of you this week but I wanted to check that the rest of you are all doing well too because I’m missing you all.

I’m sure you have seen that lots of children and families have been creating ‘Rainbows of Hope’ and putting them in their front windows to cheer people up. I’m sure some of you are already involved in this project to help keep your neighbourhoods happy. If you have already done a picture, can you send me a photo in so that I can print it off and put it on our windows and in our area to keep us happy too. If you haven’t done one yet, why don’t you make it your little task this weekend and send me a picture when you can? Try to make them as creative as you can.

Keep smiling and I will hopefully see you all very soon! Remember to spend this time with your families and try to make happy memories and don’t work too hard!

Stay safe!

Miss McGuinness

In Year 3 your child will need to bring their reading book bag every day. They will be able to change their books on Monday and Thursday, providing their homework diary has been signed – just a signature will suffice. Please ensure they only bring their reading book, homework diary and relevant homework in their book bags. Please ensure there are no key rings, tags, pencil cases or extras, as they have to fit into a small tray alongside their indoor PE kit. Indoor PE is every Tuesday and will only be sent home before each holiday for a wash.

Please make sure both kits are fully labelled with your child’s name.  Your child’s Outdoor PE kit will be taken home every Friday afternoon, please ensure it is returned for the next week.

We would like to thank you in advance for supporting your children with their homework, reading, spellings and multiplication tables.
